This Privacy Policy describes how Simple5 ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this policy carefully.

1. Information We Collect

Simple5 is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app stores your task data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers that collect or store your personal task data.

The following data may be processed:

• Task content — the text you type into Simple5. This is stored solely on your device and is automatically deleted at the end of each day.
• App preferences — settings such as notification preferences, stored locally via UserDefaults.
• Apple Reminders data — if you choose to enable sync, Simple5 creates and deletes reminders within the Apple Reminders app on your device. This data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
• Google Tasks data — if you enable Google Tasks sync, Simple5 communicates with Google's API on your behalf. This data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
• Microsoft To Do data — if you enable Microsoft To Do sync, Simple5 communicates with Microsoft's API on your behalf. This data is governed by Microsoft's privacy policy.
• CalDAV service data — if you configure a CalDAV server, Simple5 communicates with that server directly. The privacy practices of your chosen CalDAV provider apply.

2. How We Use Your Information

Simple5 does not transmit your task content to any third-party servers controlled by us. Information is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app:

• Displaying and managing your daily task list.
• Sending local notifications for the "Nag Me" feature.
• Synchronising tasks with Apple Reminders, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, or a CalDAV service when you have explicitly enabled this feature.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. The only third-party services that may receive data are Apple (Reminders sync), Google (Google Tasks sync), Microsoft (Microsoft To Do sync), and your chosen CalDAV provider — and only when you have actively enabled those integrations.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Task data is deleted automatically at midnight each day, in line with the core philosophy of Simple5. You can remove all app data at any time by deleting Simple5 from your device. If you have enabled sync, you may need to manually remove tasks from Apple Reminders or Google Tasks separately.

5. Security

Because all data is stored on-device, the security of your information is tied to the security of your iPhone. We recommend using a strong passcode and keeping iOS up to date. We do not have access to your device or its data.

6. Children's Privacy

Simple5 does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information. Since Simple5 does not collect data on our servers, you can exercise these rights directly on your device by managing or deleting app data in iOS Settings.

8. Third-Party Links

Simple5 may display links to third-party services (such as the App Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
